Iyengar yoga is exhilarating, stimulating and relaxing. It sharpens the intellect and aids concentration. One experiences a sense of calm and deep relaxation, helping to bring clarity, awareness and peace of mind to everyday life.

Through this method of yoga one will increase flexibility and muscle tone, as well as build strength, stamina and balance. It helps to reduce stress, by improving breathing and developing total relaxation.

Iyengar yoga focuses on precision in the movements, correct alignment of the body and safety in each posture.

There are a wide variety of postures and they are taught in a progressive method, emphasising details of each posture and the correct way to achieve them in a safe way.

The Iyengar method of yoga is taught by Carol Barnett, who is trained by and affiliated to the Iyengar Yoga Association of the United Kingdom (IYAUK) and is fully qualified to teach Iyengar Yoga.
